12th Annual Automotive Recalls Summit

April 30 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Held in partnership with:

In 2024, the number of vehicles affected by recall in the U.S. remained above 25 million, and the number of recall campaigns initiated was among the highest observed. Yet, the average recall size declined from 2023. Despite the relative stability in industry recalls, 2024 saw multiple recalls affecting more than 1 million vehicles. As the industry continues to innovate, new risks are emerging related to electrification, automation, and technology integration.

The 12th Annual Automotive Recalls Summit will examine recent trends in the industry, including:

  • The latest automotive recall trends, including recall size, type, and scope.
  • What is driving the elevated recall level and the decline in recall size, and what does it mean for the future of recalls and their cost to the industry?
  • What lessons has the industry learned from the Takata recalls? Explore the past five years of airbag recalls, including a first look at recent airbag sensor and control module defects.
  • Regulatory updates related to recall communications, including past trends, future opportunities, and the exclusive results of Stout’s 2024 vehicle owner survey.
  • The latest trends in the cost of automotive warranty and recall and how the industry is responding.
  • Hear our experts discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by state DMVs related to vehicle owner data collection and recall notification.

Owner Engagement: The Foundation to Customer Connections

Consumer research by LexisNexis® Risk Solutions shows that most used vehicle owners who purchased from a private party or an independent dealer want to be informed about various service offerings. Interestingly, these buyers are highly likely to contact their automaker after receiving personalized communications, creating an opportunity for automakers to engage with them. After the Stout presentation, thought leaders from LexisNexis will present their findings to help you better understand the expectations of used vehicle owners, particularly regarding recalls and repair rates.
